About

Being a school Careers Leader is a serious commitment, with a huge amount to understand, develop and manage. Given the complexity of the role it is easy for Careers Leaders (both experienced and new to the role) to feel overwhelmed and unsure where to focus attention.

The Gatsby Toolkit has been developed with this in mind.

It provides the precise information Careers Leaders require to develop a high-quality careers programme that prepares students for their future career paths and ensures that the school is moving towards the Gatsby Benchmarks.

It provides a range of easy-to-use material, developed by leading experts, that covers the key responsibilities of the Careers Leader role, including:

  • Over 30 comprehensive information articles, with practical advice and relevant examples.
  • A bank of editable templates, including action plans, tracking documents, surveys and resources.
  • Links to dozens of exemplars, useful documents and government research.

The Gatsby Toolkit is constantly updated to ensure the toolkit information is up-to-date with latest government policy and best practice. It is designed to be used in conjunction with other careers resources and websites, including the Careers and Enterprise Company Compass tool, by providing a bedrock of materials required for successful school careers provision.
